Because I am one. I was diagnosed with depression and I lived in the shadows for 13 years. Then this past December, the clouds lifted and the light finally got through. After 4 years on meds, tons of therapy, my life is relatively normal.
Now that's not to say every day is sunshiney and merry. I still fall down at times. I live everyday with the realization that I could "relapse". This stamp isn't meant just for people who have made it through to the other side. This is also for those who are still suffering...still surviving. Depression is an illness, not an excuse |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
